With more than 20 years experience in financial communications, Chin Lee has been hired to expand PPR’s investor relations practice in Singapore with the introduction of new client services focussing on restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and change management.
Prior to joining PPR Singapore, Chin Lee held senior positions with investor relations firms Wer1 and Citigate Dewe Rogerson i.MAGE. In the late 1980s he spent two years covering the National Bank of Brunei fraud case for Reuters Finance, Miri Daily News and Lianhe Zaobao before joining the latter’s business desk in Singapore covering news on trade, economic development and information technology. He then spent the next four years as the Singapore and Indonesia correspondent with Forbes Zibenjia (the Chinese version of Forbes Magazine).
During his career in investor relations, Chin Lee has provided senior counsel to corporations on IPOs, M&As, fundraising, restructuring, dispute resolution, analyst engagement, issues mitigation, crisis management and corporate reputation.
“Chin Lee’s appointment brings experienced leadership to our investor relations offering,” said Beng-Ai Yap, General Manager of PPR Singapore. “While the investor relations industry in Singapore is highly competitive, I am confident we will be able to compete at the highest level due to our experience and diverse offering.”
“We certainly see an urgent communications need by corporations in the areas restructuring, corporate reputation and change management. Listed companies are coming under increased shareholder scrutiny to deliver more transparent and open disclosure and their efforts in this area will have to be clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders.”
At the end of last year, PPR was named the Australian Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report and the Group was a finalist in MEDIA Awards’ Specialist Agency of the Year (Asia Pacific).
